Forking Fantastic!

Summary

FORKING FANTASTIC! seeks to save the dying species called the dinner party. Using personal anecdotes and clear instruction, it encourages people to abandon notions of culinary perfection hammered home by personalities on the traditional cooking shows and one too many wedding registries featuring expensive dishware. Its authors, Tamara Reynolds and Zora O'Neill, are a driving force of what has quickly grown to be a hot trend in New York City—the underground supper club, where a dozen or so strangers gather in a private home to enjoy a spectacular meal and great company. The popularity of Zora and Tamara's Sunday Night Dinners has shown the authors just how eager people are to come to a dinner party, no matter the setting or the food served. In the past, guests at their underground supper club have been asked to bring their own soup bowls, and they have happily sat on cinderblocks in order to fit at the table.  Based on Zora and Tamara’s experiences as professional cooks as well as first rate (and in-demand!) hostesses, FORKING FANTASTIC! will help people see how easy it is to gather friends (and strangers), cook a meal, and have a great time.

Tamara Reynolds and Zora O'Neill featured on Jamie Oliver's American Road Trip. Read the interview.

Forking Fantastic has also been featured on DailyCandy, the Brian Lehrer Show and AM Northwest.

“This eccentrically enjoyable book by two strange and wonderful women may well be the cookbook America needs right now. Fun, deliberately unintimidating and filled with interesting—even ingenious—recipes, it inspires the non-professional to raise their game—and have a good time while doing so. Both book and authors are clearly good for the world.”—Anthony Bourdain

Like the best hosts, their book is full of great stories and is generous with advice and encouragement. Cheers to more Sunday night suppers-on any day, at any hour!"—Naomi Pomeroy, Chef and Co-founder ripe Family Supper; Chef/Owner, Beast
