Pauline Chen was born in the year of the snake and is mother to a dragon and a chicken. She grew up celebrating Christmas on a modest scale but missed out on Chinese New Year. These days, her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because everyone has to eat what she cooks. Previously a professor of Chinese language and literature at Oberlin College, she now writes fiction for both children and adults. She lives with her family in Ohio.
